Conrad “Cooney” Anderegg October 17, 1940 - December 2, 2020

Conrad “Cooney” Anderegg, passed away from complications of Covid-19 at the ripe old of 80 on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, in Springfield, Mo. Services will be private.

Conrad was born and raised in Winter, WI, on Thursday, October 17, 1940. He joined the U.S. Army in the 60’s. He never made it to Vietnam, though if you asked him, he would tell you his service was in the “Vietnam Era.” Cooney had been a fixture in the Forsyth area for as long as I can remember, and could be found at the bar after a day’s work holding up the bar. He would milk that pitcher of beer for hours drinking his room temperature beer. Cooney never met a stranger and became instant friends with whomever he met and was loved by everybody.

He was a laborer by trade and did whatever odd job needing to be done. Though, I think he loved splitting wood most of all. If he thought you were cold, and you needed some firewood to keep warm, he would bring it to you for free if he thought you were broke. But he hoped he could get a few dollars for a pitcher of beer.

He was a man of few words but was happy just to be around. Cooney just wanted to be apart of the crowd like the rest of us. He was simple, generous and a loving soul that will be missed by all those who reminisce of the “Old Coot.”

Cremation is under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
