Mr. Eddie D. Cox, 73 of Rockaway Beach, MO, was taken by our Lord peacefully at 6:30 P.M. on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Services will be private.
Eddie Dean Cox was born Wednesday, August 13, 1947, in Ottawa, Kansas to Kenneth E. Cox and Pauline E. (Eskue) Cox. He graduated from high school in Lindsborg, KS in 1966 and went to mechanical engineering trade school for two years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Het met his spouse, Barbara, in 1980 and was married July 22, 1982, in Woodward, OK. He retired from a lifetime of truck driving in December of 2016.
Ed had a terrific sense of humor. He loved fishing, tinkering with electronics, growing plants from seed and most of all, riding his lawnmower.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Cox of Rockaway Beach; three children, Crystal Vinyard and husband, Marcus of Salina, KS, Jerry Cox and wife, Heather of Salina, KS, and Julie Cox also of Salina, KS; two step-children, Susan Black and husband, Eddie of Bonaire, GA, Joseph Yost and wife, Anita of St. Joseph, MO; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Cox; mother, Pauline (Eskue) Cox and one brother, Charles Cox.
Cremation is under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home LLC, Forsyth, MO.
